More About Me

I am originally from Bucks County, Pennsylvania and have always had an intrinsic love for nature and animals. In addition to a consistently full household of pets, I grew up skiing, hiking and fishing with my family in the mountains of Montana and North Carolina, which are experiences that have inspired my passion for the outdoors and protecting the wildlife communities that depend on these majestic landscapes.

I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, where I was focused on understanding the interaction of environmental science and policy to develop and communicate effective conservation solutions. I also learned the value of scientific storytelling via written and visual formats to influence and inform relevant stakeholders.

Following the completion of my undergrad, I decided to pursue a master's degree in Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Biology at Columbia University. For my thesis work, I researched the spatiotemporal dynamics of mesocarnivores along an urban-to-natural gradient to help inform local land use management and conservation strategies.

On a personal level, I am an avid soccer fan (go Spurs!), enjoy hiking outdoors with our mini long-haired dachshund named Gus and finding time to cook new recipes. You will also usually find me with a fresh cup of coffee or a glass of white wine nearby.
